As you know, Tony and I just got back from a week long vacation in paradise, St. Lucia.
While we were there we did our fair share of lounging, as well as exploring the island. We took the first two full days (Saturday and Sunday) to relax and kick back, then got our adventure on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, taking the last day (Thursday) to relax again.
I figured that instead of going day-by-day, I would spilt up the posts into segments (the resort, excursions, etc…).
On Sunday afternoon Tony and I visited the excursion desk at our resort and set up 3 that sounded really fun. The first one we did was on Monday and it was the triple adventure. It included a jeep tour of the island, canopy zip lining and a visit to a waterfall.
This adventure was awesome! The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the islands history, agriculture and people. They picked us up from our resort and drove us for about an hour through the island to the zip lining location.
During the drive we obviously saw some beautiful sites of the sea, including the location where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed.
Once the island tour was over it was time to zip line!
Zip lining is a blast! If you ever have a chance to do it you should. We also were lucky enough to zip line in Costa Rica last March.
Once we were done with zip lining we headed off to go play in a waterfall!
It was chilly, but once we got used to it it wasn’t so bad!
After we had our share of the waterfall our tour guides found and cracked open a coconut for us to drink the water out of and eat.
There is nothing better than that, let me tell you.
Once our tour was over we headed back to the hotel just in time for lunch! Our tour lasted from 8:30 until 1:00.
The next day we headed out to do horse back riding, another half day adventure.
This was Tony’s first time on a horse, so he was a little bit nervous.
Luckily his horse, Bob, only wanted to sleep. My horse, Becky, was about the opposite. She was one sassy lady, but we still got along.
Our 30ish minute trail ride led us right to the ocean…
…where we (both us and the horses) stripped down and headed into the water.
To say it was awesome is an understatement.
I think that it was my favorite thing that we did. I can’t say the same for Tony, but he still enjoyed it! ![]()
Well, we did one more excursion, but I think that this post has gone on long enough! I’ll be back a little later (or tomorrow) with a recap of that! It was a full day and was absolutely beautiful!
PS – unfortunately my camera somehow got switch to a setting that recorded picture quality for email attachments, instead of the 16x20 setting that I normally have it on. That is why the pictures are kind of pixel-y.
