I’m alive, I swear!
Sheesh. I always do this. I get on a blogging roll and then, BAM, I suck it up. In my defense, I choose not to blog over blogging with sub-par (read: no) content. You’re welcome.
The past week has actually been quite fun. I guess I’ve just been too busy enjoying it to blog about it. Whoopsies! My dad and his wife, Anna Maria, came out from Arizona to visit us. You may remember the last time they came out and helped us paint.
This time was a little less work and a little more play. They were here for 4 days, but only 2 full days. The first full day we headed out to one of my favorite spots, Piedmont Park!
We of course had to stop by the dog park to let Masey get some energy out before we walked around.
Then she got hot (& so were we!).
So we walked around, pretty much the same thing we do every time we go to the park.
The good stuff was what we did the next day. Stone Mountain Park! If you’re in the Atlanta area, this place is a MUST!
On our way to Stone Mountain we stopped to pick up sandwiches so we could have a little picnic before we started our hike.
Then it was time to get our hike on. We actually didn’t hike the mountain, but rather a little island (about a 3 mile’s all the way around) on Stone Mountain Lake.
It was the perfect little trail that was along the water the whole way! It was also pretty much completely shaded since there was so much tree cover.
There was a cute little bridge that you had to walk through in order to get to the main part of the trail. It was an island after all.
And of course since we were hiking along the water this had to happen.
She is such a water dog.
At one point on the trail we got a great view of the mountain. Perfect photo-op, obviously.
We had so much fun hiking and I seriously cannot wait to go back. There is so much to do there. I was shocked! I’m currently trying to talk Tony into camping there, but that’s not really his thing. Anyone need a camping buddy? I’ve been doing it since I could walk!
Ok, I could walk way before then, but that is the only camping picture I could find.
Catch ya later!
Love the picture of Masey swimming with a stick in her mouth! She looks so determined to bring it back! :)
