That’s how much motivation I had to go to the gym last night. When I sent out this tweet I was about 99% sure that I wasn’t going to the gym.
I didn’t end up leaving work until around 7:45. As I was on my way home I mindlessly drove in the direction of the gym instead of home. My subconscious obviously wanted me to workout (maybe it was the copious amounts of Goldfish I ate?), so I decided to just keep driving. On tap for bootcamp was 45 minutes of cardio intervals. Since I wasn’t really in the mood to workout, the thought of doing 45 minutes of treadmill work made me want to cry. The beginning is definitely the worst part of a workout (for me). 45 minutes seems like forever when you’re only 23sec in!
But once it’s done it feels SO good.
Well, sorta. My feet kinda hurt (I think I need new shoes). Helping the time tick by was the fact that we had to do intervals. I would do 6 minutes of running (switching between 6.0 and 7.5) and then walking at a 4.0 for 2 minutes. I ended up doing 52 minutes instead for 45 because I was waiting to see if the men’s synchronized diving team medaled (and to get 5miles in). I also ran out the last 12 min. I LOVE running while watching the Olympics!
Once I finished up cardio I headed over to do a couple rounds of abs.
PHEW, felt good to be done with this one!
I didn’t finish up at the gym until after 9pm, so I grabbed something quick for dinner. Salad the size of my head it is!
Don’t believe me?
In the giant bowl went; greens, chicken, cucumbers, carrots, feta and tomatoes. I only managed to eat 1/2 of it, hopefully it won’t be too soggy and I can eat it for lunch tomorrow.
And yes, I am still in sweaty gym clothes. I showered after I ate.
What’s the worst part of a workout for you?
Do you ever mindlessly drive to the wrong place?
great job at overcoming the obsticle and getting in a good workout!
ReplyDeleteOn days when I'm too tired or just don't want to go, I remind myself of how good I feel after. And once I get there my attitude always turns around.
The worst part for me is my last set of reps. When it gets so hard to continue and I just want to quit. So I just have to tell myself that 1. I can do it. 2. don't be such a baby. or 3. it's almost over!
I do. I've driven to my old apartment a few times.
Thank you! I honestly was surprised that I did this one. You know when you KNOW you're not going to the gym? That was me last night, I shocked myself! HA! You're right though, once you get going you're glad you did it.
DeleteThe last set of reps are pretty bad too. You just want to be DONE!!
I am impressed that you made it to the gym at 8pm! I seem to have a mental exercise block for that time of night... so props to you! I love that big bowl with a handle on it! Perfect for hugh jass salads. :)
ReplyDeleteThe worst part of a workout for me is definitely the beginning... especially with running! I drag my feet for the first mile and then once I get into a "groove", things feel much easier!
